Why Should You Participate in #iGiveCatholic on #GivingTuesday?

Why Should You Participate in #iGiveCatholic on #GivingTuesday?

The U.S. Catholic Church’s Giving Day, #iGiveCatholic, celebrates all aspects of our Catholic faith!

#iGiveCatholic inspires faithful stewards to "Give Catholic" on #GivingTuesday, a global day of generosity and kindness. The mission of #iGiveCatholic is to unite Catholic communities and donors throughout the country to give back in support of the organizations that have always been there for them: our parishes, schools, and ministries.

Here in the Diocese of Scranton, we are inviting all parishes to use our #iGiveCatholic page as a way of putting a little more fun into their Diocesan Annual Appeal campaigns and possibly meeting their parish goals by Giving Tuesday, Nov. 30. Our Diocesan Annual Appeal supports our 19 Catholic schools, all of our Catholic Social Services operations, including our food kitchens and homeless shelters, our retired priests and seminarians, and our parish life and parish social-justice ministries. So when you "Give Catholic" to the Annual Appeal, you support ALL of these ministries.

If you'd like to participate, click the “Register” button above, search for your parish, and answer a few questions on the application. Your registration application will be reviewed within a few business days, and you will receive email notifications of your status. You must apply on or before November 3 in order to participate in the Giving Day!

We hope you will join us in celebrating our gratitude for our Catholic faith during #iGiveCatholic, which will be live from November 15-30, 2021! All individual gifts will be recognized as Diocesan Annual Appeal gifts.

IMPORTANT: If your parish has chosen to participate in our first-of-its-kind #iGiveCatholic Puzzle Challenge, your parish staff will add the names of all qualifying #iGiveCatholic donors to an individual puzzle piece in an effort to complete, by Nov. 30, the unique puzzle that has been sent to them. The completed stewardship puzzle will then be displayed in your parish.

If your parish is not participating in the puzzle challenge, it may have set up a dedicated #iGiveCatholic page to which you can make your Appeal donation and help your parish win bonus dollars, awarded by the Diocese. The Diocese is awarding four $1,000 prizes to the top stewardship parishes to put toward any special project or event.

If you do NOT see a dedicated page set up for your parish, that means your parish has chosen not to create one. But you can still participate in #iGiveCatholic and have your donation credited toward your parish's overall Annual Appeal efforts. You'll also still be eligible to win any of the prizes listed on our prize page. Simply list the name of your parish in the Comments section of the donation form.

All donors who make a gift of at least $20 through #iGiveCatholic to the Diocese of Scranton will automatically be entered into a raffle to win a YETI cooler grand prize and a host of other, smaller prizes. To review the prizes, click on the Prizes tab.
